Standing a Stallion
If you own a stallion, you know that when it comes to breeding him nothing is more important than his health, safety and well-being. At Parker Farms we understand that as well. That is the main reason we limit the number of stallions we stand. Each stallion receives individual attention daily from our experienced staff, including grooming and turn out.

Our goal is to provide exceptional service to all parties involved. We realize that standing a stallion is more than just offering his service, it is a partnership. We are an extension of your ranch and breeding program, and are committed to providing both you and your customers the highest level of service.

Through the years we have developed a high level of customer satisfaction. This has developed into a relatively large base of loyal mare owners who return each year to breed to our resident stallions. A reflection of both the quality of the stallions offered and the level of service extend to your/our customers.

Haul-in Stallion  – We allow stallions that are currently showing to be hauled into our facility for collection. These stallions are considered Haul-In stallions.

Resident Stallions – Stallions that stand with us during breeding season are considered resident stallions. We ship cooled semen anywhere in the United States for most stallions.

Receiving Station for Cooled Semen – We offer on-site semen storage services.

Stallion Training Services – At Parker Farms, we can train your stallions to mount phantom and collect.

Breeding Soundness Evaluation– This evaluation includes motility, morphology, viability, longevity for future semen processing.

Mare Management
In early January of each year mare owners start bringing in their mares to foal out or stage for breeding. Each mare is cared for as our own. You have the choice of our heated show barn, mare motel stalls or covered turnout area. Each mare is fed a quaility pellet feed and alfelfa hay twice a day. Our staff can provide as much care needed to help get your mare pregnant. The options range from dropping the mare off with us during the breeding season and not picking her up until she is safely in foal to hauling the mare to us as needed throughout her cycle and bringing her back for a pregnancy exam.
Our experienced staff has one goal in mind: to help ensure your mare care and having a healthy foal on the ground the following year. We are happy to accommodate you and your mare in any way necessary to reach this goal.

Deep Horn Insemination - The insemination dose of this procedure is much lower than the traditional artificial insemination dose, where sperm is placed into the uterine body. The technique used for this type of insemination is to deposit sperm directly at the tip of the uterine horn, closer to the location where fertilization takes place. Deep-horn insemination is used for frozen semen and in semen from sub-fertile stallions with limited sperm numbers that have been subjected to density-gradient centrifugation. This procedure takes practice and experience. Parker Farms has been using the low-dose, deep-horn insemination technique for years with success.

Sub-fertile Mares – At Parker Farms, our staff is knowledgeable and experienced using advanced techniques to help these mares reach their potential. We look forward to spending the time it takes to set up and carry out an individualized program for your special needs mare.
Breeding with Frozen Semen – Our staff is experienced with the use of frozen semen to breed mares. We have developed techniques to efficiently produce pregnancies even with small quantities or less-than-desirable quality frozen semen. We deal with large volumes of frozen semen and would be happy to store the semen for you in our liquid nitrogen tanks until needed to inseminate your mare.
Breeding Soundness Exams – When purchasing a valuable mare that may be used as a broodmare in the future, please consider a breeding soundness exam as part of a pre-purchase evaluation. With this exam, we may be able to help protect your investment when looking at reproductive efficiency in the future.

Foaling Services
Parker Farms is known for their foaling services. Each foaling stall is large and roomy and has a camera for 24 hour supervision. We administer plasma post-foaling to boost a healtheir start in life by providing immunity to neonatal infections. Plasma will be be administerd to your foal unless otherwise instructed.

On site Embryo Recovery
Your mare can have her foal carried by a recipient mare while she carries
another or goes back to her show career. It is an amazing use of the latest scientific processes, and highly successful with our team involved. A mare’s entrance into our embryo recovery program should be discussed in depth with our staff. Details and costs are available upon request. Her embryo can be transferred to our local recipient heard or transported to the one of your choice.
